Enation: where the fire starts

So here's a few images from my very first photo shoot ever!! Back in the summer of 2006. This shoot was for Enation's second album "Where the fire starts." I found an old burnt down factory in portland and the colors and textured world great for a rock album. It was a really great learning experience. I can't wait too shoot there again with all the knowledge and skills I've gained since then ;)
If you haven't heard of Enation already you should check them out right now!!! enationmusic.com/ They recently had a song featured on the hit TV show "One Tree Hill." They've also played numerous times at the world famous Whiskey A-Go-Go in Los Angeles.

Amber Sweeney

This is my friend Amber Sweeney, an amazing musician and person. I've known Amber for a while and it has been awesome to see her musical journey progress over the last few years. I really enjoy trying to capture someone's personality with a photograph and its beautiful when it comes out right like in these images :] Her music is very soulful, bluesy, and uplifting. You should all check her out for sure! ambersweeney.com/

zombies

So i was going through some old pictures i shot for this short zombie movie, entitled "Dead End", testing out some of my recently acquired photo shop skills on them :] and thought i'd post some for all you to see. The coolest part about shooting this movie was that a got to be a featured zombie in it :D and i actually have a scar from it. In one of the scenes i get knocked down so i have to fly back onto the ground and apparently i got a little too into it and imbedded quite a few pieces of gravel in my elbow. Too bad i didn't take a picture! It was pretty gnarly!

This was my first experience on a movie set and it was a pretty enlightening experience watch the process. It's not as magical as it seems in the finished product but most things in life aren't. There's a lot more work that goes into movie then I originally thought. Like most of the days this was shot we were on set for like 17-20 hours. It makes you appreciate a film even more in my opinion after seeing one made and this film is only supposed to be about 20 minutes when its done.

The movie should be be finished and available to watch online in the next couple of months. I'll post a link when it's ready.

first blog

Okay World. This is my first blog of many to come and i hope to give you a little insight into who i am and what i'm about. First of all i love photography and thats the reason for this blog. Why do i love photography? Because of the moments, beauty, love, joy, and light that it can capture in a person or group of people. My dream is for this to be my profession and it almost is :D Welcome to my journey!
